When you are a beginner/ aspiring photographer you may desire to expose yourself to different types of shoots such as fashion photography, event photography, or food photography and this is perfect but with time it is imperative that you get to identify the specific field which you would like to specialize in.

In this article, I get to highlight the different genres of photography that exist and maybe through this you can identify a field you can venture into:

Event photography

This is one of the most common forms of photography. It involves taking shots of guest and scenarios at events or occasions such as conferences, weddings, product releases and live concerts.

Product photography

This form of photography involves taking pictures for commercial use, to promote or sell a product or service. Examples include photographs for corporate brochures, menus and leaflets

Documentary photography

This form of photography follows a single topic or story in-depth over time, it provides a straightforward and accurate representation of people, places, objects and events, and is often used in reportage.

Portrait photography

This form of photography aims at capturing the personality of the subject through focusing on the subject’s face, especially his/her eyes and employing effective lighting, backdrops and poses.

Corporate photography

This form of photography builds on corporate identity by focusing on the team members of an organization
